Primary schools plus
The good schoolrooms are located in different regions of India, in metropolitan slums up to a village of former headhunters at the seeming end of the world. Together with local partners, AVC humanitarian aid has founded a primary school from kindergarten to fifth grade in a village directly on the border between India and Myanmar. Most of the students are from the Burmese mountains, where their families are oppressed by government troops and rebels. The children can grow up in peace with us and later positively influence their home villages with a solid school and life education.
As a criterion for admission to school, the children must be able to make the several-day walk from the villages of Burma. During the school semesters these children live in the boarding school. The children and their parents are happy, they get - often as the only one of an entire village - the chance of a good school education.
The elementary school went initially up to the 5th class. Thanks to the approval of the authorities, it is now possible to introduce an additional secondary school from grades 6 - 8. However, this requires the construction of a second floor with six additional classrooms, a library, a storage room and two WC facilities.
